Expedia.ca Broadens Management Team With Two New Appointments

Omar Ahmad named Director, Supplier Relations and Travel Operations; Sandy Pinto hired as Travel Operations Manager

September, 2002 (Toronto, ON) - Expedia Canada Corp. is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to its management team. Omar Ahmad has been named Director, Supplier Relations and Travel Operations, while Sandy Pinto was recently hired as Travel Operations Manager.

Omar Ahmad brings 15 years of travel experience to Expedia.ca. At the helm of supplier relations and travel operations, Ahmad develops Expedia.ca's preferred partner strategies and is responsible for expanding partnerships. He also leads new travel product development, and oversees travel operations and customer experience for the company.

Most recently, Ahmad held the position of Director, Global Strategic Business Development for American Express Travel's Global Supplier Relations Group, where he developed the reengineering initiatives for hotel commission processes and oversaw global airline agreements and initiatives. As the owner of multiple international projects, Ahmad set and achieved target revenues while driving down costs and maximizing customer service and efficiencies.

In her role as Travel Operations Manager, Pinto is responsible for defining Expedia.ca's service standards and ensuring superior service for all Expedia.ca customers. She will also oversee the company's customer service and support capability, while ensuring fulfillment of new products and services offered on the Expedia.ca site.

Prior to joining Expedia.ca, Pinto was Director of the call centre for leading tour operator The Holiday Network, where she oversaw a staff of 50 and managed various projects including the system conversion and implementation of the company's new booking system. She has also managed the Canadian flagship office for American Express, as well as the American Express Platinum Travel call centre in Canada.
